Electric bills and fuel bills are rising steadilybut the cost of wind turbine energy is zero, and the cost of installing and hooking up a turbine is steadily coming down as demand rises and more commercial success is realized by various companies producing the turbines and researching technologies to make them ever more efficient.

The trend toward homes that are powered by alternative energy sources, ranging from wind turbines and solar collection cells to hydrogen fuel cells and biomass gases, is one that needs to continue into the 21st century and beyond. Anyone could be a renewable energy generator following these instruction Plus I like the simplicity of the guide.

Again, this motivation to get away from the traditional energy sources is the same one that causes people to seek the power of the wind for their energy, giving more business opportunities to profit from wind turbine production and maintenance, which drives their costs down for the consumers.

In nearly thirty states at the time of this writing, homeowners who remain on the grid but who still choose to use wind energy (or other alternative forms) are eligible for rebates or tax breaks from the state governments that end up paying for as much as 50% of their total green” energy systems’ costs.

In addition, there are 35 states at the time of this writing where these homeowners are allowed to sell their excess energy back to the power company under what are called net metering laws”. The rates that they are being paid by the local power companies for this energy are standard retail ratesin other words, the homeowners are actually profiting from their own energy production.

Your Own Solar Power System

Solar energy has been the wave of the future for some time. Solar power systems that collect the sun’s solar rays require a roof-top solar collector panel or panels. Solar electrical systems have advanced from giant roof panels to thin layers of film that are twice as conductive and work with less sunlight.

Just one solar panel is enough to save you hundreds of dollars a year, and to build one solar panel costs very little money when you use Home Made Energy to help you find the materials that you need. Building your own solar or wind powered generator means that you will discover how to easily make your own energy.

Most importantly: It works and it doesn’t matter what your experience level is, if you implement the system you WILL make a great solar panel or windmill and have lots of energy to use while saving money every month.

Options Review

Earth4Energy is the original number one manual showing you how to build your own Solar and Wind Power Generators for under $200. A complete step-by-step fully illustrated manual, Michael Harvey has also included a instructional video series for those who prefer visual instructions instead of reading from a manual.

The instructions are easy to follow, and the only place where it falls short of it’s rival, Earth4Energy, is that it lacks instructional videos. To start, this complete package comes with step by step videos, a guide for purchasing needed parts, a free gift that discusses biodiesel, the Earth 4 Energy guide, and for making this “green” decision, tax rebate forms used to make a claim on your taxes. The author and creator of Earth 4 Energy, Michael Harvey, has been involved in green energy for more than 15 years.

Home Made Energy is a new course that just came out that teaches you (step-by-step) how to reduce pollution and help the environment.

Cheapest option Well, Home Made Energy is only about $2 cheaper than its rivals, but with the economy currently in crisis, every dollar helps. Perhaps you could argue that it is to the point, however, when compared to Earth4Energy, we would rather spend that extra $2 to get that additional info.

My Number One Recommendation, Earth4Energy can help you save money by reducing your power bills by 80% or even eliminating it completely. A complete step-by-step fully illustrated manual, Michael Harvey has also included a instructional video series for those who prefer visual instructions instead of reading from a manual.

Most web developers have been in a place where they need to contract out to get some coding done. Unfortunately there are people out there that will take your money if you are not careful. Last year I fell victim to such a thing. I gave several hundred dollars to Brandon Osborne and then for several months waited for the work to be completed. He never returned my calls or emails. When I did finally get a hold of him he already spent the money and was not going to do the work. Matter of fact I had to find other solutions and no longer needed what he supposedly had to offer. Even if you find people through freelance sites such as Guru.com (and others) be cautious and use the safe guards they have set up. They are there to protect you from being taken advantage of. Don’t be tricked like I was.

In my opinion Brandon Osborne scammed me out of $325 because he never did the work and never gave back my money. Use caution!

It is true that great minds will for all times be around to help mankind solve issues that others do not mind at all. Take energy for instance. Commercial and even residential users do not seem to understand that we are getting into a phase in which there is likely to be a global shortage on energy. The bad thing is that people will only notice this once the problem is already in existence. It is a good thing that as early as now, there are already inventions that will help all of us continue to have the same amount of power as we always used to. This is through the development of the magnetic energy generator. This is in point of fact a very popular issue of discussing nowadays.

In the past, the lone energy that people harness aside from the conventional electricity is through the sun and the wind. Both of these are harnessed through solar panels and wind mills, respectively. Nevertheless, there is a growing concern over these since they are complex to establish and maintain. With the inauguration of a magnetic power generator, the capacity to build energy-generating machines has become easier and cheaper too. This is a great thing for human kind as a whole and I do hope that the present energy companies also see it that way.

A magnetic power generator is powered by magnets. As early as 2002, prototypes have already been out to the public. Due to its exceptionally cheap cost, this type of generator has been sought after by plenty of families to save on electricity bills. On top of this, you could also save on the actual machine as it is very cheap to construct. Magnets will not give you so much expense as wind mills and solar powers would do. Moreover you will also be helping the environment in some way, since the magnetic generator is very environmental friendly.

Once you have a magnetic power generator, you do not have to worry about electricity anymore. These machines can power up about 7,000 watts of electrical devices at home. This is very unlike wind mills and solar panels in which the wattage is limited. Even if there are power outages, you simply have to use the machine and everything will be back to normal. You do not have to worry about storms, typhoons, and calamities that will cause power outages. You will be totally independent and productive at your own cost. More and more people have begun using this technology, and the future of the magnetic power is only very bright.

Magnetic power is no doubt going to change the way electricity is distributed in the world, and it is a good thing since we can acquire this technology, at very cheap price.

Your Workday – How Many Hours is a Good Day Worth?
By Steve Wickham

How many productive working hours did you get yesterday? In 1994 I engaged myself proactively in a time and motion study over a working week to determine where my time was going. I wanted to do this to understand how many value-adding hours I actually worked. I wanted to share it with my superintendent as he had his own perceptions on how many useful hours the average employee works. It proved an interesting exercise!

I read recently that employers actually get more from their employees when they allow them 10-15 minutes every hour to relax and de-stress, however that might be facilitated.

My time and motion study findings were surprising–I thought out of an eight-hour day I’d work probably 6.5-7 hours easily, being a pretty conscientious worker and all. I actually found that my ‘productive’ hours ranged between 4.5 and 6; only rarely would I surpass six hours productive time from the eight-hour day. And I wasn’t wasting any time! I was diligently going about my normal business.

This brings me to the perception that the process of work is actually inefficient and supervisors and managers should quickly re-assess the demands and expectations they place on their people.

Perhaps a 50/50 day where only 4-hours of productive time might be worked could be considered a drastic waste, but it’s far from it in reality, especially when we consider the little rabbit holes people can unknowingly find themselves in. These are often no fault of their own as we’re all victims of routine circumstances conspiring against progress.

A 75/25 6-hour day, on the other hand, should be seen as an outstandingly productive day; both where the most effective work is done and where the employee might balance a little ‘relax and de-stress’ time in their day–doesn’t allow for a lot of waste though, does it?

Perhaps it’s time to re-think the expectations we’ve placed on ourselves–as well as those we place on others–around working hours and productivity? Realistically, we aren’t as efficient as we think we are.

Residential wind generators use eco-friendly renewable energy to provide power for homes. Advances in wind technology give hope to new-age green initiatives designed to improve the environment and make the country less dependent on our dwindling natural resources and upon foreign energy sources.

As wind generators have evolved, four critical qualities have been perfected. Today’s wind generators are quiet, capable of high performance for long periods of time and are extremely durable and efficient at converting the wind to electrical power.

Wind is a form of solar energy. Wind is created by the combination of the atmosphere’s uneven heating by the sun, the irregularities of the earth’s surface and the rotation of the earth around the sun. The earth’s terrain, the earth’s bodies of water and the earth’s vegetation determine wind flow patterns.

Man has always been interested in wind. Over time, humans have learned to use wind for many purposes including motion energy activities like sailing, kite flying and now for generating electricity. Wind energy describes the process by which wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity.

The development and evolution of wind generator technology has spurred the increase in the use of wind as a source of renewable energy. The purpose of a wind generator is to convert the wind’s kinetic energy into mechanical power. The mechanical power is then used for specific tasks like pumping water. Wind generators convert this mechanical power into electricity.

In its simplest form, a wind generator works directly opposite the common fan. Rather than making wind, wind generators use the wind to make electricity by using the wind collected by wind turbines.

There are two basic types of wind turbines; horizontal-axis and vertical-axis. Horizontal turbines are the most common for residential applications. Horizontal turbines use two or three blades that are faced into the wind. Residential turbines are usually sized for 100 kilowatt capacity. Commercial turbines range up to several megawatts and are often arranged in wind farms.

Today’s state-of-the-art residential wind energy turbine generators provide power to a hybrid solar-wind charged controller with 12, 24 and 48 volt auto-regulating states to assure optimal charging power of solar-wind and to protect the unit’s battery bank from over-charging. These products are relatively inexpensive and incredibly efficient.

Since the unveiling of the original 100 kilowatt generator at Yalta in 1931, wind generators have come a long way in terms of capacity, size, noise levels and overall efficiency. The first utility grid wind turbine was produced by the John Brown Company of the Okney Islands and was used in the UK in 1954. This unit had an 18-meter diameter, a three bladed rotor and a rated output of 100 kilowatts.

To be effective, wind turbines work best in locations that have constantly high wind speeds. In these settings horizontal turbines are preferred. In settings where the wind direction is variable, vertical axis turbines are preferred. The generator for horizontal turbine sis usually located at the top of the tower. The generator for a vertical=axis turbine is located near the ground.

Over time, the technological advances of generators have enabled reliable delivery of power in extremely cold conditions. Earlier models struggled with this capability. Additionally, the early wind generators were known for excessive howling noises and vibration of the blades caused by high winds. These deficiencies have been corrected through more compact design and more efficient blade capacity. Whereas early versions of wind turbines and generators were cumbersome, today’s efficient models are sleek and compact and greatly increase the aesthetic appeal of these renewable energy products.

Identity theft affects millions of people each year, in fact almost everyone knows someone that has been victimized by identity theft to some degree. The question is; are there any identity theft solutions? Unfortunately, there is no way to protect yourself completely, however there are steps you can take to protect your finances and good name.

It is important to know more about identity theft and how it happens. Even though credit card fraud makes up the largest portion of identity theft there are many other ways thieves use your personal information for their benefit such as utilities fraud, bank fraud, loan fraud, government fraud, and more.

What is Identity Theft?

Identity theft occurs when someone uses another person’s personal information such as; name, SSN, credit card number, without their permission, to commit fraud or other crimes. According to the FTC over 9 million people in the US are affected by identity theft to some extent. Often times victims don’t find out they have had their identities stolen until they are applying for a home loan or a new job ruining the chances of getting either.

Preventing Identity Theft

In order to implement identity theft solutions you need to understand how thieves get your information. Thieves may steal your trash and go through it looking for personal information they can use. That is why it is important to shred any document that has your personal information on it. Skimming is another method used, in this case thieves steal your credit card information with an electronic storage device. Keep on eye on your card when you make purchases at shops and stores. Phishing is becoming more and more popular. Thieves pretend to be a financial institution or company and send you spam email trying to trick you in providing personal information. Remember most banks will not ask you for personal information in an email. If you think it is legit then call the (800) number and give them your information on the phone. Also you should always put your outgoing mail in a secure post office box instead of you home mail box. Thieves can steal your mail and have access to all sorts of personal information.

As you can see there are many ways thieves can obtain your personal information to commit identity theft. The best way to protect yourself is to watch how you handle your personal information and check your credit report on an annual basis from all three major credit bureaus. Examine them for any suspicious or inaccurate data and report it immediately.

With global warming and other environmental concerns increasingly on the minds of Americans, you want to green your home do your part to save the planet. Here are some easy and fun (and cost-effective!) ideas to make your home more environmentally sound.

Chuck the incandescent light bulbs wherever possible. These standard tear-drop shaped bulbs burn out relatively quickly and use up lots of electricity — creating garbage and using up resources at the same time. Compact florescent light bulbs (a.k.a. CFLs) last many times longer than incandescent bulbs and use a fraction of the energy. They cost more per bulb, but money you save in energy will outweigh the price difference.

Give up on the bottled water. Sure, your Aquafina may taste slightly better than standard tap water, but the cost of bottled water to the environment cannot be underestimated. Bottled water takes energy to procure, distil, transport and package. Instead, buy a top-of-the-line sink filter or just keep a filtered water pitcher in the fridge. Not only will you protect the environment by cutting back on your consumption of plastic, but you will also save a bundle over the long-term on drinking water costs.

Recycle or give away (or sell on the cheap) your old furniture. Instead of trucking your old sofa or 1999 Sony T.V. to the dump, find your used furnishings a second home. You can use online give-away sites like Craigslist to find people in your local area who might want your furniture. You can also sell stuff on e-bay or give it away/sell it at a garage sale. Barring that, you can find an eco-friendly recycling center near you to dispose of your furniture with minimal damage to the environment.

Stock up on natural, organic products. Instead of installing a vinyl shower curtain, for instance, hang up a hemp curtain — it’s equally anti-fungal and does not release small amounts of volatile organic compounds every time you take a shower. Get rid of your harsh kitchen and bathroom cleansers and replace those nasty chemicals (which have been linked to all sorts of ailments and pregnancy-disorders) with safe compounds that won’t hurt you, your children, your pets or your environment.

Reduce your dependence on heating and air-conditioning. You can keep a temperate house without paying your local energy company an arm and a leg. Turn off the heat and air-conditioning when you leave for work for the day (or go on vacation). Use your windows and shades to adjust to the weather outside. If it’s super hot out, for instance, throw open the windows and turn on some fans. If it’s incredibly cold, pull down your shades and keep windows tightly sealed to avoid heat-leakage. You can also invest in thermally efficient windows and sealants to boost your energy efficiency.

Get a professional energy audit. You can find top rated independent energy contractors out there to come to your home and point out precisely where and how you are wasting energy. By following their tips to reduce heat waste, you will not only reduce your consumption of fuel, but you will also pad your pocketbook in the long-term.

Make it a habit to turn off electrical devices when you are not using them. Before you go to sleep at night, go around and turn off the lights, the T.V., the computer, and other appliances, which can drain energy while you sleep. Also, many electronics like DVD players and video consoles stay ‘on’ even when turned ‘off’, so they continuously consume a small amount of energy – unplug them.

Landscape in an eco-friendly manner. Put out drums to catch rain water to hydrate your plants or garden (if you live in an area that’s relatively drought-prone). Landscape with plants that are native to your region and soil type. If you try to keep tropical plants alive in an arid environment, you’ll inevitably use up an unseemly amount of water and natural resources keeping the plants healthy. You might also want to use your garden to grow organic vegetables.

Look for products and services to boost your green mission. You can find expandable foam to seal up drafts in your insulation. You can get screens to put in your windows to block out some of the solar radiation in the summer and thus help you save on air-conditioning costs. You can purchase eco-friendly power strips to reduce your energy bill and general power consumption. You can buy hemp grocery bags to transport your food (and thus save the planet from having to countenance hundreds of plastic and/or paper bags a year).

Get your family and friends into the green act. You can’t do it alone. Teach your family about the value of the environment and establish “rules of the house” to conserve resources and treat your local habitat with respect. Remember that greening your home can be a fun and educational process. Keep up to speed on the latest greening technologies by contacting local environmentally concerned groups or government agencies.

Whether you are preparing a presentation for a business meeting or a group of students it can be time consuming and stressful. However, there are some common tips that can help ease the stress while making a great impression on the audience. The key to delivering an effective presentation is preparation! Make sure you understand the topic and practice before the big day. Listen to yourself and speak at a normal speed and clearly. You will want to be able to look around the room while presenting, making eye contact with the audience. Never read verbatim from your notes or slides. The more you practice the better prepared you will be at being yourself.

In most cases, presenting to an audience is like instructing a group of students. You want to pass along important information that is helpful and easy to remember. Doing this can be challenging if you are not familiar with how people learn. There are 3 basic learning styles; visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Developing your presentation around these learning styles you will be able to connect with the audience and the information presented will have more meaning and be easier for them to retain.

Adding a visual aid to your presentation will help reach the visual learners while emphasizing key points. You can do this using several different means such as; chart paper, slides, handouts, writing on a white board, and objects related to the information being presented.

Here are some tips when using visual aids to deliver effective presentations:

Don’t block the visual aid, stand on either side and refer to it as necessary.

Don’t read from your visual aid. Always speak facing the audience.

Leave your visual aid in view until the audience has had time to read and understand it.

If you are done using the visual aid remove it, turn off the projector, or cover it up so it won’t be a distraction.

If possible you can reach more of the audience by getting them to participate, group discussion, or through experiments. However, depending on the type of presentation, this may not be possible.

The key is to form your presentation around the information you have to present and know your target audience. By meeting their goals and expectations you will walk away knowing you delivered.
